Sofia Cholakis

Graduating St. Mary’s Academy in June 2023 with a 94% academic average, Sofia has maintained honour roll grades throughout her time in high school. Her 6 years at St. Mary’s Academy were spent playing sports, being involved in school clubs, and volunteering. In her senior year she was Co-Captain of the Indoor and Outdoor soccer team, who were A division finalist in indoor. Alongside soccer, she is involved in school, and club track. This June she placed 1st overall in the province at the varsity level for hurdles at the Provincial Track meet in Brandon, Manitoba. In addition to athletics, she also involves herself with her school as the Public Relations Head with the Peer Support Team. She dedicates her time to improving the environment of SMA regarding mental and physical health of the student body. With a passion for sports, Sofia also volunteers with Special Olympics Manitoba as an assistant coach for the Roadrunner program. In the fall, Sofia will attend the University of Manitoba in the Faculty of Science to pursue a career in Dentistry. While taking he prerequisites, she will also be running track for the Bisons.
